Each client could take over authoratative server responsibility and that was pretty straight forward. Pull a network plug and people can still keep playing.<br /><br />The next challange was restoring network communication and merging servers. The game design may have a lot to say about that. I suppose if the game supports joining in progress then it might be as simple as identifying which server had more players on it - for for another reason is allowed to remain authoratative.
